One of the most exciting reasons to live, work, or start a business in Lincoln County is the immense outdoor recreation opportunities available in every direction.

The county is made up of thousands of square miles of breathtaking landscapes, which offer hiking, off-roading, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, five state parks, and so much more.

Outdoor recreation is poised to grow as stakeholders move forward with a 10-year destination development plan.

It calls for strong partnerships between agencies to expand trail systems that move people throughout the county, highlight points of interest, and connect downtowns. Various events throughout the year include holiday weekend parties, bike rides and festivals, family-friendly outings, fishing derbies, fairs, farmers markets and the list continues to expand.

Dining options include great hometown restaurants and food trucks, while several bars provide places to unwind. These options are set to expand under the destination development plan – from fine dining, to food trucks, to outstanding coffee and pastries.

History buffs find much to explore here, including museums, old west architecture and mining structures, cemeteries, and ghost towns. Meanwhile, historic properties such as the Depot in Caliente and the Thompson’s Opera House in Pioche – icons of eastern Nevada heritage – offer space for events, entertainment, and community information.
